A setback can be good

The Nerf tournament on August 6 did not happen as scheduled due to bad weather. My son got home in time for iftar unscathed. He looked a little despondent but still managed to strike a pose. According to him, he did not see any action because the pouring rain made it impossible for the battles to go on. You see, I wasn't there with him. The event was held in the open air for the foam-based bullets to soak up the water and slow themselves down. No Nerf war can happen when the slugs just drizzle off the blaster muzzle. September 9 is the make-up date and this time round the organiser is thinking of holding it indoors. That's more like it.

As if to help him nurse his disappointment, my other half bought him a Raider CS-35 yesterday. I would call this impulse buying but she justified the RM20 price-off offer and the further RM10 discount coupon she had on her made the purchase worthwhile. Total damage: RM159 - RM20 - RM10 = RM129. What do you think?
